Watch: We take a look at the brand new Claire House Liverpool

Claire House Children’s Hospice has opened the doors to it’s brand new facility in Liverpool and now they need your help.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. Currently only 1 in 2 children in the region needing this type of care are able to access it and so the brand new Claire House Liverpool facility which plans to enable the charity to reach more children and their families.

The new site, a former monastery in West Derby, is already rolling out phase one of it’s service plan which includes family support, complimentary therapies, parents and tots groups and some day care services for the children.

With more developments to come, the centre is home to a very special, immersive and more importantly, inclusive outdoor play area that was created by CBBC’s The Dengineers, and will enable children to play together with ease. To continue to offer the highest level of care to local children and their families, Claire House needs you. The centre belongs to the city of Liverpool and its people and whether you’re a local business, a community group, school class or even just a keen fundraiser, you can pay an active part in funding these services.

The annual Claire House Splash Dash, Merseyside’s messiest 5k event takes place on Saturday 23rd September 2017 at Sefton Park and there’s still time to enter. Head to to register, buy your Splash Dash tee or sunglasses and get ready to get totally covered in powder paint with your family and friends.

Already registered to get messy, here’s another 5 ways you can support Claire House Children’s Hospice….

1 – Take on a Challenge

From the 5k Santa Dash around Liverpool city centre to trekking Mount Kilimanjaro and sky diving, there are tonnes of events and challenges that you can sign up for and raise much-needed funds for Claire House Hospice. 2 – Volunteer at Claire House

Why not join more than 850 volunteers who regularly give their free time to support Claire House? There are over 36 different roles on offer across the hospice sites, charity shops and fundraising events and they’re open to anyone over the age of 16. 3 – Play the lottery and win big

For only £1 per week you can play the Claire House Lottery. You’ll be allocated a six-digit lottery number which will remain yours as long as you want to keep playing. Each Friday the winners are selected at random with a £1,000 first prize up for grabs every week, along with 24 smaller runners-up prizes, what’s not to like? 4 – Become a Corporate Partner

Claire House Children’s Hospice couldn’t exist without corporate partners and whether you’re a huge organisation or a sole trader, the experienced fundraisers will work with you to find the scheme that suits you best. Join corporate partners such as Sound City, Liverpool Echo, Cammell Lairds, Unilever and United Utilities and sponsor an event or join the 500 club and commit to giving a small amount each year. 5 – Donate
