WATCH: We gave a carriage load of Merseyrail passengers free tickets to Aintree’s Ladies Day
With less than a week to go until The Randox Health Grand National 2019 we took the train to Aintree with Merseyrail.
Everyone knows that the quickest and most convenient way to get to Aintree Racecourse is by train. Merseyrail service run every 7 and a half minutes before and after the races ensuring race-goers don’t miss a moment of the action.
Watch above as our Jay and Gemma take the journey from Liverpool Central to Aintree and make an unscheduled announcement that puts a huge smile on lots of surprised faces!

Over 50,000 people are expected to descend on the city and Aintree throughout Grand National weekend. Merseyrail will operate trains every 7 and a half minutes from approximately 12:00 and 13:30 before the races and 16:20 and 20:00 after the races on Thursday and Friday.
Merseyrail services between Liverpool Central, Moorfields and Aintree will run every 7 and a half minutes from approximately 11:30 and 13:30 before the races and approximately 17:25 and 20:00 after the races.
To keep queues to a minimum, Merseyrail recommends purchasing your tickets in advance. You can download the Merseyrail app here to plan your journey in advance.
