What’s on this week in Liverpool 30th September – 6th October 2019

Get ready to plan a brand new week in Liverpool with these top events and activities.


It’s a big week for sport, comedy and music this week in Liverpool – well, when isn’t it? Liverpool take on FC Salzburg, local lad Adam Rowe, Russell Howard and Olympian Bradley Wiggins are at the M&S Bank Arena. Star Wars gets a big screen showing with a live orchestra, Oktoberfest gets the beers in and it’s World Veggie Day too.

Elsewhere – there’s a tribute to Neil Diamond at Grand Central, Punch Tarmey’s launches its new Live Sessions and the Wales GB Rally takes over the Pier Head. It’s going to be a chokker week!

Monday 30th September

Breakfast at Mann Island Social

Monday mornings require pancakes, (we totally made that up but it’s got legs hasn’t it?). Where better to tuck in than at Mann Island Social with an uninterrupted view of the Albert Dock? Get this stack in your life. Menus and more here. 

Gary Numan, 02 Academy

Electronic pioneer, Gary Numan celebrates 40 years in the music business with his (R)evolution tour and it comes to Liverpool’s 02 Academy on Monday night from 7pm. Tickets and more info here. 

John Moores Uni Flat Mate Finder Bash

We’re all about welcoming students to the city and if you’ve not quite sorted your digs yet, we’ve got you covered. Head to Cool It Liverpool on Monday from 4pm to check out the LJMU Flat Mate Finder event and prepare to meet your new uni fam! More info here. 


Tuesday 1st October

World Veggie Day

It’s World Veggie Day on 1st October and we’re celebrating with a big old veggie feast at Maray. Celebrate your plant-based fabulousness with a disco cauliflower on the dock, Bold Street or Allerton Road. Menus and more here.

Barre Balance

Bored of the gym? Running in the rain not your bag? Why not check out Barre Balance for a fun way to tone and work up a sweat? Based at Rumford Place in the business district, this ballet x Pilates studio is the perfect place to fit in a session around work. More info here.

9 to 5 The Musical, Liverpool Empire

Louise Redknapp and Amber Davies arrive in the city on Tuesday with the ultimate tribute to the music of Dolly Parton. 9 to 5 The Musical is on at the Liverpool Empire until Saturday and its a guaranteed sing along toe tapper. Tickets and more here. 


Wednesday 2nd October

Fleetwood Mac Night, 24 Kitchen Street

Vice City is back by popular demand and it’s bringing a Fleetwood Mac themed night to 24 Kitchen Street on Wednesday night. Dust off your fedora’s, floaty scarves and try n grow a beard to get down to all the hits from 11pm. More info here. 

Liverpool v Salzburg, District

The Empire Strikes Back Live in Concert, M&S Bank Arena

A truly unmissable event for all Star Wars fans comes to the M&S Bank Arena on Wednesday. Watch Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back live on a giant HD screen with the soundtrack performed by a live orchestra Goosebumps guaranteed. Get your tickets here.


Thursday 3rd October

An Evening with Bradley Wiggins

The country’s most decorated Olympian, Sir Bradley Wiggins is in conversation with ITV’s Matt Barbett on Thursday night at the M&S Bank Arena. The Auditorium will be packed to the rafters as  the five-time Olympic Gold medallist and Tour De France winner share exclusive tales, prized memorabilia and career highlights. Tickets here. 

Wales Rally GB Grand Depart

The Pier Head will be petrol head heaven on Wednesday as 59 cars line up to officially begin the Wales GB rally. The Grand Depart event kicks off from 2:30pm and spectators can see the cars, drivers and crews on the waterfront until the timed start begins at 4pm. More info here. 

Oktoberfest Baltic Market

Oktoberfest returns to the Baltic Market and in true tradition, there’s a four days of steins and good times on offer. The fun begins on Thursday with the very best beers and entertainment from Berlin to Bootle. All the info here. 


Friday 4th October

Neil Diamond Tribute, Grand Central Hall

Grand Central Hall pays tribute to the one and only Neil Diamond on Friday night with comedy from our very own, the fabulous Lindzi Germain. Get your tickets here and get ready for an unforgettable night out.

Pop Dungeon, EBGB’s

There’s a brand new night launching at EBGB’s this week in Liverpool. Pop Dungeon will be playing all the best in 90’s and 00’s pop music including lots of forgotten gems. Getyour double denim and choker outfits sorted well in advance. Info here. 

Bloom Allerton Road

Liverpool’s very own comedian Adam Rowe is back home at the M&S Bank Arena Auditorium on Friday. Winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Best Joke 2018, Adam brings his show Pinnacle to the waterfront for an umissable evening of comedy. Tickets here.

Oktoberfest, Camp & Furnace
