What’s on this week in Liverpool 4th – 9th June 2019

Caught your breath after the weekend? This is the best of what’s on this week in Liverpool.


What an incredible weekend that was. Like off the scale! We’ve started this week from Tuesday because frankly, who was up for doing anything other than discussing the game and the parade on Monday? Watch all our Champions League Final coverage here. 

It is a HUGE week for music in the city. Take That, Jess Glynne, Kelly Jones, The Kaiser Chiefs and The Pink Floyd Experience all perform live with brand new theatre shows at the Liverpool Empire and Royal Court, where poor Smigger’s head has fallen off! Elsewhere we’re got new summer menus, cocktails and more footy action as England take on Scotland in the Women’s World Cup, is right girls!

Tuesday 4th June

Big Buoy Brunch, Castle Street Coffee

Did you know Castle Street Coffee serves up an amazing brunch menu 7 days a week? Dine from 7:30am (on weekdays) on generous helpings of pancakes, ‘on toast’ eggs, bacon, sausage, yoghurt, porridge and these amazing meat and veggie buoys! All with a first class coffee of course. A Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Liverpool Empire

Think Oceans 11 meets The Marx Brothers and the result is this absolute cracker at the Liverpool Empire. A Comedy about a Bank Robbery is a hilarious comedy set in the summer of ’58 when slapstick capers surround a priceless diamond robbery. Tickets here. 

Kaiser Chiefs, Liverpool Guild

The Kaiser Chiefs play Liverpool Guild, Mountford Hall on Tuesday night. This is the rescheduled gig and somehow there’s still tickets available. Doors at 6pm, tickets here. 


Wednesday 5th June

Summer Plates & Cocktails, NYL Restaurant & Bar

Our favourite little bit of Scouse Manhattan, NYL Restaurant & Bar has launched an unmissable summer menu of small plates and new cocktails, perfect for lunch time grazing with friends. Ribs, king prawn skewers, pizettes, straw fries and delectable desserts. Menu and booking here. 

QT Quiz, Kazimier Garden

Get involved with the QT Quiz on the first Wednesday of the month for a bout of alternative pub trivia here in the Kazimier Garden. It’s only £1 per team to enter and there’s a prize for the winners. Expect random rounds and good times. Info here. 

Gaia, Liverpool Cathedral

Have you seen the size of the earth? Head to Liverpool Cathedral and check out Gaia, The Earth. A 23ft replica of our amazing planet as seen from space by NASA. It’s actually stunning. All the info here.

Thursday 6th June

Healthy, Hearty Eats, 109 Allerton

109 Allerton is now under new ownership as Peel & Coconut chef and restauranteur Ray Taylor brings new healthy and wholesome dishes to the menu. You can stack your own burger, tuck into loaded flatbreads, superfood bowls and much more. Menus here. 

Take That, Anfield

It’s all eyes back on Anfield on Thursday as Take That perform their Greatest Hits Tour live at the reds’ stadium. There’s still some tickets available plus hospitality here. Neeeeeeeveerrrr Forget all the top tunes and sing your little heart out!

Kelly Jones, Liverpool Philharmonic

What a day for music! Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones performs live at Liverpool Philharmonic on Thursday night too. Expect to hear some greatest hits from 10 Stereophonics albums plus tracks rarely performed live from Kelly’s solo career. Last few tickets here. 


Friday 7th June

Lost Soul’s 2: Smigger’s Day Off, Royal Court

Ahhhh poor Smigger is having a midlife crisis, all he wants to do is go back to the 70’s and get on the dancefloor with his beloved Donna, but baby sitting duties for his grandkid have gotten in the way. Prepare to dance from Scottie Rd to Prestatyn as Smigger tries to recapture his youth with hilarious consequences. Tickets here. 

90’s Party Cruise, Mersey Ferries

How do you fancy an evening of 90s nostalgia on the Mersey with the sounds of pure pop perfection this Friday night? Jump on board a Mersey Ferry for a 90’s party night featuring everything from Britney to the Spice Girls, and all the boy band cheese! Tickets here. 

The Pink Floyd Experience, Grand Central Hall

Imagine experiencing a complete performance of Pink Floyd’s epoch-making album, The Dark Side of the Moon right here in Liverpool. Well you can, this Friday at Grand Central Hall. Jess Glynne, Haydock Racecourse

Saturday 8th June

Wirral Real Ale Trail

The Wirral Real Ale Trail invites you to spend Saturday visiting some of the best Real Ale pubs in the area, without worrying about who’s driving! Buses arrive every 30 – 45 minutes at each venue between 11am and 10pm and there’s over 50 real ales to try, live music and awesome food. Info here. 

World Gin Day, Liverpool Gin Distillery

Summer Shakedown, Constellations

Constellations Garden is hosting an all dayer raising much needed funds for Sunflowers on Saturday.
