You will not believe the set list for Friday night’s Garage Classical at LIMF 2017

Do you really like it? Is it, is it wicked? Prepare to be part of a world premier event as Garage Classical kicks off a weekend of music on the central stage at LIMF 2017.

On Friday 21st July, DJ Spoony will present UK Garage classical live with the backing of the 40 piece RNCM Session Orchestra as part of the LIMF Presents programme for 2017. The Sefton Park central stage will come to life from 5pm with some of the most iconic artists and tracks from UK Garage, including Kele Le Roc, Elizabeth Troy, Lonyo, Master Of Ceremonies, Lifford, Richie Dan, Nay Nay and Sweet Female Attitude. Hands up who’s ready for a huge party in the park?

We caught up with DJ Spoony on LIMF TV to find out more.

Here’s 13 tracks that will blow your mind at Garage Classical…….

1 – Architechs – Body Groove

As well as producing this tidy 90’s track, Architech brothers Ashley and Paul are also responsible for producing the UK garage remix of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine”, selling over 40,000 copies of the bootleg. Legends.

2 – So Solid Crew – 21 Seconds 

If you don’t know this track, where have you been? Everyone’s favourite response to being in rush since 2001, So Solid Crew released 21 Second on their debut album and it reached the top spot in the UK singles chart.

3 – DJ Pied Piper and the Masters Of Ceremonies – Do You Really Like it?

Ahh there’s no way we’re not lovin it lovin it lovin it, with this next track. Released in 2001 and obvs scoring a number one for DJ Pied Piper and The Master of Ceremonies.

4 – Kele Le Roc – My Love

Double MOBO Award winner, Kele Le Roc is bringing iconic garage track My Love to LIMF this year and despite it being released almost 20 years ago, we still know every lyric!


5 – Artful Dodger – Please Don’t Turn Me On

Following the massive hit Rewind just a year earlier, producing duo Artful Dodger smashed this little beauty out further promoting UK Garage in the mainstream charts. Watch the video and have a little reminisce .

6 – Donae’o – Party Hard

Another MOBO winner, Donae’o released his first studio album ‘Party Hard’ and this booty shaking track as a single back in 2009. Get, get down!

7 – K Warren ft Richie Dan – Call It Fate


8 – Sweet Female Attitude – Flowers

From the album In Person, Sweet Female Attitude released the single ‘Flowers’ back in 2000 and it became an instant garage anthem. All together now, ‘I’ll bring your flooooweeeerrrssss in the pouring rain’.

9 -Lonyo – Summer Of Love

We haven’t heard this track in YEARS! But instantly fell back in love with it. If there’s a Garage track that’s perfect for a summer party in the park, it’s defo Lonyo, Summer of Love.

10 – Artful Dodger – Rewind 

How did this only make it to number 2 back in 1999? Who remembers the young beanie wearing Craig David lending his instantly recognisable voice to this? We can’t wait to hear the crowd shout Bo’ Selecta at Garage Classical.

11  – Sticky ft Ms Dynamite – Boo! 

Another youngster lending her voice to an awesome track came in the shape of Ms. Dynamite who recorded ‘Boo’ back in 2001 with Sticky.

12 – MJ Cole – Crazy Love

Easily one of our favourite chilled UK Garage beats, MJ Cole track, Crazy Love was released in 2000 and we reckon this will go down a storm on the central stage!

13 – Wookie – Battle

Er how amazing was the year 2000 for garage hits please? Wookie scored another top ten garage belter with ‘Battle’ which is one of those tracks you fall in love with again, as soon as you hear it.
